C-REACTIVE PROTEIN RESPONSE IN ANGINA PECTORIS
نویسندگان
چکیده مقاله:
C-reactive protein (CRP) response was studied in 44 patients with acute angina pectoris admitted to the coronary care unit. 71 % of patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI)had positive CRP test while 73% of patients presumed to have unstable angina pectoris had negative CRP test. This test can be helpful in differentiating between acute MI and unstable angina pectoris.

متن کاملNonconventional therapeutic modalities in refractory angina pectoris
Abstract Despite sophisticated conventional medical treatment and the continued development and improvement of coronary revascularization modalities in recent years, a significant number of patients still suffer from refractory angina pectoris and cannot be successfully managed. Advances in therapeutic options have led to an increase in the average of life expectancy even in such ...
متن کاملRelationship of C-reactive protein to adverse cardiovascular events in patients treated by percutaneous coronary intervention for stable angina pectoris.
Low-grade inflammation as detected by increased C-reactive protein (CRP) levels predicts the risk of cardiovascular events. However, there is still controversy over the mid-term predictive value of CRP in patients referred for elective percutaneous coronary revascularization (PCI) for stable angina pectoris. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between baseline CRP level and mid...
متن کاملPrognostic Significance of High Sensitivity C-Reactive Protein before and after Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in Patients with Angina Pectoris
Background: Elevated high sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP) has been identified as a strong predictor of prognosis in acute coronary syndrome. The prognostic significance of hs-CRP level in percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is unclear. Aim of the Work: Is to assess the hs-CRP value and its prognostic significance in short and long term follow-up after PCI. Methods: We prospectively...
متن کاملC-reactive protein in unstable angina pectoris and its relation to coronary angiographic severity and diffusion scores of coronary lesions.
OBJECTIVE We aimed to assess the relationship between C-reactive protein (CRP) and the severity and diffusion of coronary artery lesions in patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP) and the independent association of CRP with this clinical situation. METHODS This cross-sectional, observational study included 50 patients. Classification by Braunwald was used for UAP. The severity and diffus...
متن کاملImpact of C-reactive protein and fibrinogen on cardiovascular prognosis in patients with stable angina pectoris: the AtheroGene study.
AIMS C-reactive protein and fibrinogen have been extensively studied and shown to be predictive for a first cardiovascular event in healthy individuals. We evaluated the potential clinical use of C-reactive protein and fibrinogen in patients already suffering from coronary artery disease (CAD). METHODS AND RESULTS In a substudy of the prospective AtheroGene registry, we assessed in 1806 patie...
